    Book Cover

In January 2021, we have been promised a ‘new era’ in Star Wars…

The High Republic: Light of the Jedi is an upcoming canon novel written by Charles Soule. It will be the first volume in the Star Wars: The High Republic publishing campaign. Thee story follows Jedi Avar Kriss as the Jedi Order faces a new threat.

Two hundred years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, in the era of the glorious High Republic, the noble and wise Jedi Knights must face a frightening threat to themselves, the galaxy, and the Force itself….

According to certain blurbs I’ve seen, this is supposed to be ‘the new canon’…   and the means to move away from the whole Skywalker arcs and making ‘new stories’ based in the existing universe. (even if it is 232 years BEFORE the battle of Yavin).

Perhaps we can hope these are decent stories and not ‘Disney-fied’ stories of the Republic when it was at it’s best.

And for those interested in ‘the characters’ (at least how they are viewed now… rewrites happen!)

BUT… you can see art and short write ups for many of the main characters ‘to come’…

If it’s written at an adult level I’d definitely consider reading it.
