I just happened to notice this thread. I can’t read the article anymore because it’s been so long since it was up, but my initial opinion is: The police of that area don’t have good leadership. Someone should have noticed that this guy wasn’t on the roster for shift, one, and two that someone should have started questioning who this guy was. Okay, I’ve got it-you can’t keep track of everyone in the force, but come on-SOMEONE should have heard alarms going off in their head.
I’m not sure of how he did it, but I’d love to find out if you can find the article again .
The kid had done ride alongs, so he knew how the police ran typical shifts. And he really wanted to be a cop, so he had studied enough to pull it off. The funny thing is, he didn’t have a badge, but no one noticed. Definitely a wake up call for that department!
Setanaoko: sorry I didn’t see your post sooner…I’ve seen more and more articles like the one I posted above. It is sad to see some of the things that involve police. Makes me question why I really want to be a police officer :ponder
Actually that could provide you with more motivation to be a police officer than less. If you become a police officer at least you know that is one more police officer in the world who isn’t a bad cop. You might find some comfort in knowing that if you are filling that position, then it could have prevented a bad cop from getting the job.
