Following suit of everyone else, plus it will be easier, I am starting a journal of my own. Please feel free to comment on any of my or anyone else’s postings. Not much I can put today since I’m on 24 hour Staff Duty, other than a wonderful “fun run” of 5 miles up and down hill.

Sounds ‘fun’ to me! ;-)  Honestly, while I know that’s a pain, I would find it really fun to be able to do that.  It’s been a long time since I’ve run up anything but I still remember it well!

Today, another run day. Casey has a smaller post that is connected on the other side called Hovey. We ran all the way there and back on level ground. It’s about 7 miles round trip, which isn’t so bad, unless it’s about 25 degrees outside. Oh well, it felt awesome, lol.

Final day of PT before the big 4-day holiday weekend. We went to the gym for about an hour. I mostly was on the free weights doing curls, presses, rows, etc. Oh we ran there and back(3 miles round trip). On average we run anywhere from 30-40 miles/week. It does good for my cardio, but kills my knees. Any suggestions?

Not much of a running person myself, but both my father and brother are huge runners.  My dad says if your knee is bugging you that its possible you need to stretch before hand.  There are some muscles where the attachment site is near the knee, so if you don’t stretch them, that puts stress on the knee.

My brother says its how you run.  He is part of high school cross country and track, so he has to learn about endurance.  Unfortunately, he thinks you just have to push through it, which I’m not sure that’s right either.

All in all, my best recommendation would be the stretching.  Or, if you have a Chiropractor available, to go see him/her.  They can sometimes work on your knees and help you stretch it so that you’re performing optimal runs.

That ALL being said, I know you are in the military so I’m not sure how much of that is possible, but hopefully something helped.

Thanks Pheonix, I’ll probably end up going to see the chiropractor soon if it gets worse. Well since this is a 4-day weekend and it’s Turkey Day weekend, not much for working out is going to happen. It’s also getting much colder so P.T. will probably start moving to the gym every day just due to the hazards of Winter Running. The hills have a huge slope angle, pretty much like this forward slash /.
