Wow, I have to leave for a few weeks and things get real quiet!  lol  So what’s everyone up to?  I’m adjusting to a new schedule which requires me to go to bed early and commute a total of about 2 1/2 hours a day. This is seriously cutting into my time online so it’s taking me longer to get caught up than I wish.  However my priority has to be my family and job otherwise I will be useless here as well.  I’m doing pretty well with time management actually so I should be caught up fairly soon.  I do leave for Abu Dhabi around May 7th though, so it’s time to get some things done. :-)

So what’s everyone up to?  Spring break?  Praying for spring to come?  Trying to survive the school year?

I’m juggling for all I’m worth. I’m managing…barely….to keep work/study/family all going along with a small amount of ‘me time’. My computer time has also been severely curtailed because I’m studying as soon as I get home from work, in the only family and distraction free time I get.

On the plus side, I have access now to many journals, hopefully I’ll be able to find some resources for that guilt paper I want to write.

It’s very quiet on the Jedi Boards…

Ashla Knights has a little activity – but no one has posted at JRC for about 4 days.

I suspect it is that it’s spring – and that as a group the Jedi are getting older and life does get in the way (I’m off work today having worked the weekend).

I may be wrong about this trend, but I suspected it would happen because the “kids” are getting fewer and further between and the old-time Jedi have gone from college and schooling age (which now lasts often into the early 30’s) to the real adult world of jobs, family, and other responsibilities.

If what I suspect is happening – the Jedi are simply going to change to being less active – and possbly more “blog style” interraction that isn’t as reliant on on-the-spot activity.

I hope no one feels guilty about “taking care of the business of life” – it does take priority – and I think it is for many.  (It’s also spring break time – and some have a lot of yard/house clean-up after a really difficult winter season).

    But seriously – it’s happening everywhere….

Good to know Asta.  I don’t frequent other locations due to my own time constraints so it’s useful to hear how others are doing.  Things will probably pick up as people get through their spring breaks and such.

I don’t think they’ll pick up significantly, really its all just part of a trend, as Asta says, thats been going on for some time.

Yeah, I can see what Asta is saying.  I think that’s the case.  I know in my own case I’ve been trying to boost my self-employment career and that takes an unbelievable amount of time for very little reward.  So much so that every once in a while I reconsider whether this is the right thing to do, but then I come back to the realization that I can’t quit my self-employment job.  It’s my heart.  The answer has to be that I find a way to make it succeed because when I try to think of options they just don’t seem to be there any more.  And I don’t want the options, I want the success.  But it’s leading me to a weird place as far as my relationship to the Jedi world because it constantly brings into question for me the ideal of “Do or do not, there is no try.”  I mean, are things really that attainable or not?  Is it something that is really true or is it just what I’ve hoped was true?  Anyway, I’ve been having a lot of mini faith crisises going on with my Jedi walk and I think what Asta is saying about the real world getting in the way of progress of the Jedi path is really something to be dealt with and not underestimated.  But I’m trying to hang in there.

Welcome back Mags!  If you don’t mind, I’d like to offer my services to help you get unstuck with your career.  I’ve gone through this process a few times between my wife and I.  Heck, we were just talking about it today.  So if you’d like to talk, send me a pm and we’ll see if we can’t figure out what is missing for you.

Thanks Jax!  I think it’s general enough that I can post it right here, though.  Mainly it’s just that it takes an enormous amount of time and energy to wear all the hats.  The only other problem is to figure out free or inexpensive but yet effective ways to advertise my sales sites.  It’s hard to get attention for them when they aren’t connected to mainstream.
