ModeratorWow I haven’t posted in this journal in…well ever! That is really quite shameful of me!
This morning I did a 6 minute meditation. I normally do longer, but I was so put off by the fact that not only was I awake, but how early I was up. Fortunately as the day went on though, I was glad that I meditated as I needed that extra balance and peace.
Tonight I meditated in the shower and then a quiet candle meditation each for probably about 15 minutes.
I don’t know why but I always enjoyed meditating and the quiet. I didn’t focus on anything particular, just quieting my mind.

KeymasterI’ve tried meditation in a bath and it doesn’t work for me at all. The shower is even worse because there’s so much physical stimuli that I can’t really focus on anything else ‘meditatively’. lol It’s cool you did though

ModeratorLOL! I don’t know, I’ve always done well with water meditations. Whenever its stormy, or hailing(like tonight) I just find an inner calm and connection with that and often enter deeper meditations as a result! BUT meditation is individual
:
Anyways, this morning I tried meditating but my thoughts were very disorderly. I had trouble focusing, and took my own advice and wrote everything down then breathed it all out. That helped a bit, at least with the thoughts, but the anxious feelings were still there as a result. I’m going to work on that….
Tonight I have yet to meditate, but I’m looking forward to it!!! (its hailing+warm shower=good meditation)

ModeratorWell today was an OK meditation day. I’m just thrilled I’m getting into a practice of meditation, regardless of whether I’m noticing any changes.
I meditated twice today, once around the mid day time and the other just before getting online. I know the morning one was much better, I was more focused on my breathing and clearing my mind. Tonight, however, was just a bust. I couldn’t focus, I was/am tired, I’ve got the stress of finishing up my finals, etc etc. So I was able to just breathe and relax and that is as far as I got.
So overall, again, an OK meditation day.

ModeratorWell last night I did a quick 5 minute meditation to just relax my body and mind. It felt GREAT…I don’t know why I’ve never gotten to this point before. But it was actually beyond amazing…just laying on my floor, completely relaxed, letting my breath in and out, literally just emptying myself to the Force. It was nice to just be there.
I tried to do a focusing meditation after that, but I just couldn’t focus as I was exhausted. Tonight I hope to get another meditation in before bed. My plan was to do one this morning, but my alarm had other plans…..

ModeratorI figured I should be making a better effort of recording my meditations in this journal instead of just my training journal:
2/11: Last night I did a 10 minute meditation before I went to bed. It was actually very relaxing and at first I felt like I was going to fall asleep, but there was something keeping me awake. I just meditated and focused on the Force. Very relaxing and powerful even though I was so tired!
2/12: This morning I tried the breathing meditation again as well, though not with the best results. My mind was everywhere this morning and despite my efforts to calm the mind, it just wasn’t happening. My lower back was also acting up, so I got through possibly a 15 minute meditation then decided I needed to get on with my day. I will try again tonight. Oh! During that 15 minute meditation I did a mantra meditation(copying the idea from the Meditation workbook) and decided to use the word Force. It helped a bit, as I felt that relaxing effect, but my mind was just at mach speed. So it just goes to show that I have a lot of practice to get back where I once was.

ParticipantI like mantra’s, they are neat. Have you tried charging the Mantra yet? The method I learned takes some discipline! You have to recite the Mantra for atleast 30 minutes for twelve days, before sunset. Supposedly this better connects you to the mantra, and it kind of “activates it” for lack of better words.
I have been using an english version of “um shanti”. I just recite force, peace, peace, peace instead of um, shanti, shanti, shanti. However, I must say that sanskrit recitations are wonderful because when you focus on the vibration of your voice it elevates your vibration to another level.
I have combined this with the suggested meditation found in the introductory course. It takes like an hour! Lots of discipline required.
My first day charging the mantra and meditating was a strange supernatural experience, check out my blog if you want the details. This morning however, I felt periods of “not being here”, but I was to tired to unfocus. I was focusing on trying to stay awake! Oh well, tommorow is another day. :rebel-Syris
