    I’m not familiar with these distinctions, but I’m going to say whichever is readily available to you where you are. A typical “civilian” first aid course is roughly four hours in the U.S.

    I got a regular Red Cross First Aide cert my first time. Now, I’m getting recertified in Wilderness FA.

    Do you what you think is appropriate.

    As Connor noted —

    Some ‘do’ Basic and enjoy it enough to go back for the more specific CPR and/or emergency training. Since the PLP is all about what YOU are interested in pursuing — pick what you think you would most enjoy learning.
