Tried to meditate, still having problems with outside thoughts intruding, getting better, actually had a point were my mind went clear.

Trying to concentrate on just breathing, focusing on breathing, in/out. Found it easier today to ignore outside thoughts. Though I did have to change the voice in my head, was hearing Mr Miyagi, “IN, OUT” actaually helped me focus a little better.

03 February 08 – Cross legged – I had a good nights sleep and didn’t really have much going on for the day. Was able to focus a lot easier on breathing. I’m pretty sure that there were a few moments of just breathing going on.[hr]
4 February 08 – Force – Sitting in Chair – Mind was wondering a lot. Tried to stay focused on breathing, but kept getting thoughts like how work need to put aside a quiet room for meditation, the ballast is going out on the light, and hey I haven’t thought about anything.[hr]

I have actually been doing alot of meditation during the last few months, but have not kept track of them. At this point in my path as I try to rebuild myself, I’m going to try harder to start using this journal to keep track of it, as well as pushing to keep track of my dreams and such.

I meditated for 2 stretches of 10 mins each last night. I need to get back to a point where I can let go the “Monkeymind” and truly be once again. As part of this meditation I have also begun trying some energy work. After meditating I sat and tried to sense the energy in my body, feeling it flow, as well as trying to control its flow, causing it to flow into different parts of my body. I think I was able to feel the flow, as I felt rush’s/waves throughout my body, and occasionally to the place’s I was trying to direct it.

Meditated for 10 mins, trying to concentrate on just breathing. Thoughts of work, home and movies kept trying to intrude. After the meditation, I worked on feeling the energy flow in my body for 10 mins.

do you find it easier to focus when you’re doing energy work?

To be truthful, I did find it easier to focus on trying to feel the energy in my body after meditating. I also found it easier to focus on feeling the energy flow in my body then to try and focus on breathing while meditating. Grant, I guess you could say while I was trying to feel my energy flow, I was partially meditating. I think that may be the fact that I’m actively doing something, trying to feel my energy flow, vs trying to do nothing but concentrate on breathing.

exactly, it’s more of a moving meditation which is often simpler for people to focus on.  I would bet if you keep doing both you’ll find a stillness meditation easier because you’re practicing more with the energy work.

I’m gonna try keeping it up for this week, then move on towards trying to control the flow next week, after that, start into constructs and sensing around me. I think it’s about time I put forth some real effort into my energy work once again, see if I can’t get somewhere with it.
