ModeratorOkOk, I know we are the fans of the infamous Star Wars saga, but I was just wondering how many people were considering buying this book.
I went to go see the 5th movie several days back and I thought it was pretty good. I stopped reading the books like at number 2 or 3. So after seeing the movie, my brother and I chipped in to pay half/half for the book.
Was it worth it??

KeymasterYou need to read the other books first, before reading this last book. There is a ton that happens in book 6 that you need to know about. If you skip to 7 you’ll be confused and spoil a lot of it for you.
But our copy arrives on saturday guaranteed from amazon.

ModeratorOk, Yeah, I went downstairs and discovered that I actually did read up to and through number five. And here I thought I was lazy…lol
Anyways, I’m hopefully going to the store tonight to pick up a paperback version of number 6 and read that( instead of doing biology *cough cough*)

ParticipantI intend to buy it, but maybe not this weekend. For one thing, I have to work and won’t be able to get to a bookstore :saber. Darn work anyway.
Otherwise it’ll be Monday for me.

ModeratorJax,
Lol *this is what i think about biology* :saber :fight :maul :xshoot :explode :plight*sarcasm* all warm and fuzzy feelings
Inari, I have to work this weekend too, but thankfully I have parents who are willing to go to the bookstore and pick it up for me. Also they, at least here, do Book Midnight thingys. They started it with number four and have been doing it ever since. Basically the bookstores stay open till midnight and you go in and they do a whole bunch of different types of things. I went for book 5 and it really wasn’t worth it :

Keymasterhaha, then your bookstore sucks.
If you were in Austin you’d be in for a treat. Perhaps it’s just because people have no qualms about being weird – after all, it’s our motto. But also, at the largest local bookstore they show the movies while people wait in line. But I think most of the fun is waiting with so many other people who are so excited to get the new book. The energy is quite interesting. But we also pre-ordered and didn’t get there super early. This year, amazon will get the book to us on saturday via ups. I bet ups is going to be very busy that day!
In any case, remember with things like this, if you want to discuss the book you have to warn people so they can choose to not read. You might also want to change the text to white so people have to highlight in order to read it. No need to spoil anything for those who haven’t read it.

KeymasterI have to be up in 3 hours, and yet I couldn’t stop reading this book. At some point, you realize there is no stopping until the end. I think it’s very important to not spoil this book, as it would take away so much of the beauty in it.
Enjoy.

ParticipantThe Barnes and Nobles in my County had a big midnight party for the release of the book. My brother is a big fan as well as my aunt so I went with them and just sat around reading manga (Japanese graphic novels ((I am a big fan of Rurouni Kenshin)) ). Anyway. It was pretty cool. I saw some old friends and got a really weird frapacino from the cafe. It was Vanilla with pop-rocks and random food colouring, mine was purple.
