As my name had been invoked I thought I should respond. I agree with Jax’s assessment. The Source of All (my name for God) and the Force would never command an individual. Rather, it/they would be more persuasive in manner. It would encourage one to think of how the action can affect the larger universal plan (more on this later). But the untimate decision to act would rest with the individual.
A guide would be more apt to tell a person what they should do. However, I have found guides to more waiting to be asked on matters. Often a guide will say “I would have told you to do A but you never asked.” Sometimes, they wait unitil after the fact saying, “You weren’t ready to hear what I had to say about X until after you experienced Y.”
The phrasing “have you ever considered what I want” to be from one’s higher self. It is the higher self that has created a master plan, one that coordinates with the plans of others. It is this “larger plan” that could be thought of as the Universal Will or Will of the Force or God’s Will. When we stray too far from the master plan, that is when the higher self gives us a quick kick in the butt.
