Haven’t gotten to the day 11 stuff yet. Just quickly recounting what I can remember of yesterdays dream.
I spent a little time yesterday talking to Jax about power animals again, and she suggested I talk to Angelus because I wasn’t certain which of the various animals that turn up in my meditations were my ‘power’ animal (if any of them were) He advised that power animals turn up and can be seen from any direction, I realised that the falcon that I see always on my left, and the cougar from in front (interesting huh). So I went to sleep last night with the ‘intention’ of asking my power animal to turn up.
Well, this morning I am actually on call for work, and have been reasonably busy up until now so I didn’t get a chance to record all my dreams. Just before I woke up though I remembered I was walking through some sort of open-air zoo. I walked past many animals, and into an aviary. In the aviary were two Wedge tailed eagles (the only eagle in Australia apart from Sea Eagles down Tasmania way). The pair were over the far side of the enclosure, and then then as I walked through they both took to the air and flew towards me, settling nearby. They flapped their wings and made funny noises at me. I asked them if they were my power animal and then I woke up (darn it). I’ll do some more meditations on that and see if an eagle turns up again and comes from all sorts of directions over time.
I did have an encounter with a Wedgie when I was a kid. The campground I’ve suggested for the Australian gathering (then called Arbury park camp) does animal rescue, and when my class was there on camp they had a young male wedgie who’d been hit by a car in this large cylindrical aviary near the dormitories. He’d clearly gotten used to people, but still would hiss and shuffle along his perches aggressively towards most people. One boy (who I didn’t like either) he actually flew at and tried to attack through the wire (smart bird lol). But he didn’t hiss at me. He’d fluff up his neck feathers and make these sort of peeping noises. I felt privileged at the time to be one of the few people who could get near him, and assumed that I probably looked like his handler or something (most of the keepers were women at that time).
However, I don’t recall dreaming about eagles before last night.
