I find this topic fascinating!
Honestly…I am a silent film/classic film -er fanatic. I also love politics/current events/ and also history. I belonged to, especially, film sites since the later 1990’s.
Compared to film-talk in particular, the Jedi seem to want to find concensus… I find them so much more conversational and pleasant, and my time online is part of my free-time, that I am on Jedi sites far more. Yet, Jedi sites tend to go deeply into the discussions that caused the most “heat” on the film/politics/history sites.
I believe it is in the nature of those who come to the Jedi sites, their tolerance, and “seeking” that keep it pleasant. I know there are “arguments” and general interpersonal dislikes… But in general the Jedi sites cover far more emotional issues better than many other sites of less personal nature.
I find that interesting…and also says something about the philosophy of the Jedi.
Might it be also that the community has grown together? The core of the Senior Jedi have had their disagreements and atonements together over years…? We newer members sense the resolve to “get along” and be “tolerant” and so the sites are more pacific than in earlier days?
Also…I believe the internet and this method of discussing/expressing spirituality is one that will be the future of “religion”. I have learned so much, gained so much, in the past few months than I learned or experienced in my spritualities/religions of heritage.
The Jedi Community is rather amazing and I suspect pioneering.
well…again…just my two cents…
