I have found through my time at the Academy that there is more to the self than can be seen in a single lifetime. Osho teaches us to look at a flower, just simply look at it. Do not asign a name to it, such as beautiful or ugly, for then we cease to see the thing for what it truly is. When we say this flower is beautiful, we are then saying that there is something else in the world that is ugly, and that kind of pre concieved notion is something that cannot exist when we are, for example, trying to negotiate a tense situation. I myself have often been cited as unemotional when it comes to my diplomacy.
However, I choose to think that I am still indeed using my emotions, for I could not use my abilities of empathy without them, I just seperate myself from those attachments when doing the work that I am often times asked to do. I see both sides of the argument without any bias or judgement, and then offer my humble advice. We must I think live in a symbiotic state with our emotions, for as humans, we can not just discard them, and as Jedi, we must learn to use them without letting them take over the core of who we are. IMHO
May The Force Be With Us All.
