Want includes with it automatically a feeling of not having, which in turn produces you not having it.  This keeps you from where you desire to go. 

Desire has a different connotation, without the feeling of not having.  This will produce you having what you desire, assuming you maintain that same expectation of receiving.  This will keep you moving on your path, and bring you closer to your goals of being a Jedi for instance.

But, many people lack the faith that this is possible, and this is why they will continue to fail.

When I get some time (lol) I’ll write up some mini lessons on this.  :-)
