What I have been told is not untrue. But, I only bring this up so people are aware. It’s easy for those with experience to see the negatives of a site and steer clear of those people. It is not so easy for those who are young, inexperienced, or just now learning how to use their intuition.
Since the faculty are somewhat responsible for the safety and well being of our students, we will do our best to equip them with the knowledge necessary to keep themselves safe. That includes adding another side to a post when necessary. No one has been personally attacked, nor will they. But I will also not sit back and have kids run headlong into a site thinking everyone there is trustworthy. That would be irresponsible for me to do. I can’t protect them, but with warning they at least know to pay attention to their instinct. No one is saying to avoid the site, just be cautious.
