A dream! That implies only one dream! Well, I have either one very big, complex dream, or several smaller interrelated dreams.

Here goes

Dream 1 – Work in a profession that allows sufficient time (or even encourages) self-development and Jedi training. I see lack of time as one of the biggest obstacles to our personal development and greater aspirations. I’m well on the way to realising this dream by looking to be a self-employed shiatsu massage therapist.

Dream 2 – Move to the US for a time (maybe a good long time) to facilitate for several different reasons, such as more work opportunities for my husband and I, things we can do and learn there that we cannot in Oz, be closer to friends etc. Hopefully this dream will go well too, as we have submitted greencard applications for 2008 and just have to wait to see how that goes.

Dream 3 – To change the way my family lives to be more environmentally and economically sustainable. Translation: build an energy efficient home, change transportation habits and methods, grow more of own food etc. I’m thinking of undertaking a correspondence course in self-sufficiency to help with that. That also leads on to Dream 4.

Dream 4 – Establishment of a number of Jedi Communities. Now, most of us say that we want to see ‘real Jedi Temples’, but get a bit vague on the details of what this entails. My dream of a (or several) Jedi Communities involved a number of Jedi and their families living within a reasonable close proximity to each other (e.g. within an intentional community or wider community within easy proximity). I would see these communities working together to facilitate each persons personal training, and also working to serve the greater community in specific ways agreed upon by the groups members. For example, there is the possibility that in the future, the world will be destabilised by economic and political problems caused by depleted oil stocks and global warming. In a worse case scenario, it is possible that large numbers of people will be without education, food, clean water, and the ability to procure or make food and necessary items for themselves. As such, I would like to see at least some Jedi communities make a specialisation of preserving factual and cultural information and being capable of teaching people how to support themselves; as well as emergency relief work in such situations. It is of course entirely possible that such will not be necessary, but I feel it is a worthy undertaking either way.
