Whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere, the solstice was a few days ago. Hopefully you have had a chance to spend some time outside, or at least in appreciation of our planet while indoors. This planet is a massive contribution to us. Isn't it worth a few minutes of our appreciation? Even if it's freezing cold, take some time to touch the ground, the trees, whatever is around. Send the Earth a little gratitude and enjoy either the longest or shortest days of the year!
Last month we announced new courses, this month we have some personal announcements to share. We are a community, so even if you aren't actively working on courses, there is benefit to simply stopping in and sharing your life with others on a similar path. While our training journals are called training journals, they aren't limited to training information. All of life is training in one way or another! You will find more information about these announcements in everyone's respective training journal. Do you have some of your own to share?
Jax is pregnant, and expecting a child around February 4, 2015. This is the first child for her and her wife and they are very excited, in spite of the nausea!
Yoshio is marrying his girlfriend, first on July 26 in Salzburg, Austria with a traditional Japanese ceremony to follow in the fall in Japan. They are also in the midst of determining what country to live in and when to start a family!
Angelus recently became engaged to a great man named Jay, after a year and a half of courting. The wedding date is still being worked out.
Jedi Travis recently learned he and his wife are expecting a baby girl around November 8. Travis is using this as motivation to quit smoking. He, along with Tai, are maintaining a thread to document their journey through this trial. If you are currently trying to quit smoking, you are welcome to join them as well. Even if you don't smoke you can share your encouragement!
2014 Jedi Gathering
Just a last minute reminder that the 2014 Jedi gathering is held June 27-30 at the Skyline Camp and Retreat Center in Almont, Michigan. You may contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. For students who attend, as long as you write something about your experience and what you learned, it will count toward your PLP offline training hours.
We've had a few people return from a long absence which has been quite fun. In the next month the IJRS is focused on continued development. Many members are attending the Jedi gathering, so next month's newsletter will include information on how it went.
Until then, stop by and update your training journal. Start a few discussions. Reconnect with your fellow Jedi. How does it get any better than that?
