Hopefully by now you have come to believe and accept the Force as a part of your life and not just something you say because that is what Jedi do. Believing in the Force is believing in an order to things, a function to things. Believing in the Force is understanding that all things are related and connected to each other. It is when you fully grasp this that you will begin to see what the purpose of the Force is in your life. Not every Jedi uses the Force for the same purpose. Some of us rely on it to help us understand others. Some of us rely on it to help us understand ourselves. Each of you has different skills. Knowing what they are is knowing how the Force will guide you.
Yoda once said, “A Jedi’s strength flows from the Force.” This is true, but strength comes in many different forms. The most obvious is strength of body. Strength of mind is perhaps that much more important to Jedi. When you tap fully into the Force (when you let the Force guide your actions) you will find yourself in a state of pure, true enlightenment. Your life slowly disappears, along with your worries, your fears, and your questions. What is left is simply you. Your goals become clear, your thoughts and emotions are controlled, and you begin to know exactly where you are going and what you are doing.
It is all too easy to hide from the Force, but this you must not do. You must open your entire being to the Force if you want it to work with you. According to the Tao Te Ching, “He who is in harmony with the Tao / Is like a newborn child.” This is not an easy concept to understand. Most people are intent on who they can become. A Jedi must focus on who he is. When we are open to the Force, it will bend and guide us like a parent does a child.
