‘You have my word’.
Before the days of the written contract a Gentleman’s word was his ‘bond’ (binding agreement).

Qui-Gon says to Shimi Skywalker ‘Do not worry. I will look after him. You have my word’. She takes great comfort in that. She knows that she can trust this total stranger to take care of her son, because she has his word.

Are you true to your word? Do you say ‘I’ll be there at 8’, only to show up at 8.15? Do you make excuses; bad traffic, trains not running properly, or do you say ‘I’m sorry. I didn’t leave enough time’.

Can you be trusted? Do you keep your promises? Do you act with integrity?
Are you prepared to responsible for the consequences of your lack of integrity?
