David (Phoenix) created the topic: The Will of the Force

Today I was doing an insight meditation, trying to quiet my mind.  Recently I have been having some trouble with a college course, and I was trying to just quiet my mind and release some of my tension I had with it.

While I was meditating, I was thinking to myself, the whole reason I was taking this course was to later on use it to pursue my career.  But then an idea hit me, and I have no doubt it was the Force speaking.  It said" That may be what you want.  But have you ever considered what I want.  What my will is..."

So my thinking is that the Will of the Force is all around us.  Recently I believe I have come more intune with it then ever.  I am meeting new people, discovering new things, and growing on my Jedi path...All I think are relevant to the Force's Will.

So what are your takes on the will of the Force?

I think you need to be careful about where you think information is coming from.  From my research, God and the Force doesn't say what you said.  It takes away your free will.  I've never heard a guide say that either.  However, what would say that is your higher self.  Your soul, the part of you that is your constant guide and companion on this journey of life.  It is what knows everything you wanted to do when you decided to incarnate this time around, and it knows what your goals are.

Have you ever stopped to see what resonates deeply with you?  It's not easy to do, at least in my experience, and I've only done it once that I know of.  It took a particular set of circumstances to get to that point also.  But when i did there was no doubt at all what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  That's why I left graduate school with just a masters.  And it's why I'm trying to figure out when to take these recording classes.  I know that's my path, so I'm figuring out how to get to it.

Another thing, that I would be very careful of.  Voices can come from many places.  I'm not one to call boogie man at everything, but there is always the possibility that someone is messing with you, trying to derail you.  But I know even less about this possibility.  I know that when I hear voices they are obviously not from me.

So my recommendation is to talk to Angelus privately about this. (like you need encouragement to do that lol) I would also recommend talking to Loremaster if she has the time to answer email.  If any of the other experience faculty can chime in, they may have a different perspective also.  In the end, you have to go with your gut.  Feel it out, and if you notice any warning flags at all, pay attention to them.  Your higher self doesn't have warning flags, though the answer may occasionally not be what you'd like.  Ask for clarification, explanation, and take your time with the information.  And as always, I'm here to talk, as are some others.

As my name had been invoked I thought I should respond. I agree with Jax's assessment. The Source of All (my name for God) and the Force would never command an individual. Rather, it/they would be more persuasive in manner. It would encourage one to think of how the action can affect the larger universal plan (more on this later). But the untimate decision to act would rest with the individual.

A guide would be more apt to tell a person what they should do. However, I have found guides to more waiting to be asked on matters. Often a guide will say "I would have told you to do A but you never asked." Sometimes, they wait unitil after the fact saying, "You weren't ready to hear what I had to say about X until after you experienced Y."

The phrasing "have you ever considered what I want" to be from one's higher self. It is the higher self that has created a master plan, one that coordinates with the plans of others. It is this "larger plan" that could be thought of as the Universal Will or Will of the Force or God's Will. When we stray too far from the master plan, that is when the higher self gives us a quick kick in the butt.

My wife did add that you need to make sure that there isn't something hanging on to you and trying to throw you off your path.  I wouldn't yell demon or anything like that.  And it really doesn't matter what something is, if there is something there.  It would just need to be removed.  I don't have direct experience with this, Loremaster was who I went to for advice on this.  I don't want people to get paranoid, but realize that there are people or beings who like to mess with people.  So watch for red flags and trust your intuition.

When I'm reading this I get a whole different take on it.  To me it does actually sound like something God would say.  Though within the Force there could be other voices and granted it is a matter for carefull discernment, yet consider this.

First the voice is asking "Have you ever considered . . . " .  It is not commanding, not demanding, not saying don't do this . . . no it is rather asking you to consider it from another point of view.  Sort of like "unlearn what you have learned".

Second, I don't think this voice is saying not to continue on the Jedi path.  If you notice, it happens as you are trying to quiet your mind about a class you are having difficulty with.  So I would say that this individual class is more likely the thing God is refering to.  I would interpret it as God saying that perhaps this class has nothing to do with His reason for creating you, thus efforts to go through with this may simply frustrate you as it is not what your nature was meant for.  Or perhaps it is just that He wishes to draw your attention to consider whether or not this is what you were destined for.  Asking you to consider maybe there is a better choice for you.

Third, sometimes - in fact many times - we think we know what we want and we really have no idea.  If this class is so difficult to deal with it could be because deep within you really want nothing to do with it.  For an example, I went through several years of computer programming because I was fixed on the idea that I wanted to promote myself into another economic class.  Why?  Because I had visions of my soul mate in which I could see he was wealthy as I had a sense of him being inside a limo, speaking in more of an upper class dialect, etc.  But did I want to be a programmer?  No.  What I was really pursuing was love.  But point being, that if you would have asked me what I wanted most at that time my response would have been that I wanted to be a computer programmer.

I don't know that I would write this off.  It could very well be God.  Yet I would continue to discern.  If it is from God the lesson will repeat in some way or various ways until you understand it.

Actually, to follow this up, this was absolutely not god.  This is not the type of thing god would say, based on the wording.  In the end, Tai Chi Yoda did have a negative entity attached to him.  This entity was taken care of, along with a few other minor issues so it hopefully wouldn't be a problem again.  Tai was also given a better shielding technique so he is more in control of his own energy.

You do make some useful points, Magdelene, and I don't want to take away from that.  But I believe this is another problem with religions claiming god has a will that is exercised on people.  It gives negative entities an easy way into people's heads, derailing them from their path until they realize the problem.  In the end, it's the person's choice and an experience they needed to face, but hopefully people can learn from this and practice discernment when they hear voices.  It seems like it wouldn't hurt much to ask for clarification perhaps, so long as you are careful to not take anything to heart.  :-)

You don't know that.  This is something that only tai chi yoda can really discover for certain.  Of course we don't know what the . . . was.  But ignoring whatever the . . . means the rest of it does sound like God.

Jax, there is nothing wrong with believing that God has a will.  He does.  You have a lot of fear built up about this and I would strongly advise you to let go of this fear.  And no "negative entity" will have any more power than God who is all powerfull so there is really nothing to fear here.  God's love for tai chi yoda will prevail over any "negative entity".  In order for tai chi yoda to learn this discernment, he has to practice it.  Without your intereference.  Jax, I just want you to see that you are being just as dictitoial as you think God is.  Let go of your fear of God's will.  Let go of your fear of God's control.  Let go of your desire to be in control of your students.  They will be ok.  They will respect you more.  God only controls what he must and he does it for our benefit, not our defeat.  There are many situations in life that require us to submit our will to that of another.  If you can do this at work with an employer who does not love you or in a compromise with a spouse or loved one who loves you with an imperfect love why fear to submit to the will of the One who is perfect and has perfect love for you?  He's not into being pushy.  You needn't be afraid of Him.  Even His wrath is an act of love.  And it's fun, even.  I've incurred His wrath plenty of times and have always come away in the long run having enjoyed the ride.  Only because He heals me as well as corrects me.

Actually, yes, people can and do know that.  They can know exactly who it was, and why it was with him.  And it does not sound like god to many people.  It sounds like God to those who believe the view of God many religions put forth, but that would end up with them being quite misguided in this case.  Hopefully they would realize it before sabotaging themselves.

I have no fear of God.  God does not have wrath, and I'm sorry that you the need to believe these stories told to keep people in line.  Wrath and judgment are characteristics humans place onto God because they can't imagine pure love and acceptance.  But this is your path to walk, not mine.  I do not fear God, for there is nothing to fear of God.

As for Tai, I didn't do anything with the entity.  I'm just passing along what I know.  It sounds more like you are trying to make this experience fit your beliefs so that you aren't incorrect.  That doesn't change the situation, just your perception of it.  And nothing was done without Tai's permission, as that would be unethical.  It's not as if people are running around interfering with students.  And in the future, he will learn to handle these situations on his own.  It wouldn't do any good for us to not teach students to protect themselves.

Have you ever considered the possibility that it is actually you who is misguided?  As I truly believe that is the case, Jax.  I'm not saying that a person cannot know for certain that this is or is not God.  But without knowing what was said in the . . .  part it is not really possible to make that call.  If nothing was said in the . . . part then this sounds exactly like God.  But if it is God, He can make this clear to tai chi yoda with or without my assistance.  And in the end tai chi yoda will know.  Yes, it is a good thing to teach students to protect themselves.  One can be overly protective of oneself, though.  But I'm not worried about him.  He seems to be fine.  He knows to ask for help.  He knows to ask questions.

I'm worried about you.  You tell me that you think I am afraid of being incorrect, but that is not the case.  I could be incorrect especially since I don't know what the . . . means.  But I'm accustomed to being disbelieved so I am not worried about it.  I think this is more a case of you projecting into me something you fear yourself.  I think it is you who is afraid of being incorrect.  You do have a lot of fear built up.  I can feel it.  But I don't think it is God himself you are afraid of.  Or even so much being incorrect.  I think what you are really afraid of is being controlled.  I can understand that knowing what your background and experience with religious community has been like.  You were exposed to too much negative control.  But there is another fear of God which is positive and is more to say a respect of God and His power.  Giving up control to God is a positive thing and removes fear as it is a protective control not a dominating control.  Like protecting a child so they don't hurt themselves.  It is a good thing to allow God to control.  Sometimes that can make us feel uncomfortable, but the more we learn to allow it, the more we do learn that it is for our better good.
