Kol Drake created the topic: Earthquake Poster 2019

Since many of my online friends 'just' happen to be living in the areas of So. Cal. that got hit by two rather impressive 'earth shakes'... I figured this might be nice to post.

Not sure about that top right "just stay in bed"...

I'd modify by saying, flip your mattress or crawl BETWEEN your mattress and box spring... so if anything falls on you, you have that 'buffer' that might save your life.

I'm on work travel to this area for 5 weeks starting next week. Not excited about 7.0 earthquakes...

I was born in So. Cal. (back in the dinosaur days).
As a kid, we'd run outside to watch the palm trees sway when 'small tremors' hit.

This last set was weird.
I have many friends living in the So. Cal. / LA area and tried to keep in touch while all this was going on.
It CAN get spooky at times.

Just make certain you have your travelling 'go bag' handy... just in case.

The biggest issue seems to be roads. The two big ones caused cracks to roads and rocks slides blocking roads. And I read a report of 70+ minor earthquakes and aftershocks in the area, which continue to threaten more rock slides and damage. My work out there is currently suspended until they are ready to reopen, but I'm not scheduled to fly until Sunday, so I could still end up out there next week. It sounds like a mess out there.

"Minor shifts" can equal total messes for some... with busted gas pipes and water/sewage lines.
So, 'minor' is very relative.

They keep showing the 'crack' in the desert but the damage to homes and business with the second larger 'quake helped push those that survived the first 'quake over the edge. Clean up and recovery is going to take longer than 'a couple of days', for certain.

Be careful when you DO get out there.
