Feel better soon! And way to go trying something new. Even if you can't do it often at least you had fun for the day!

Also from my side all the best for your full recovery and I would like to fully second what Jax said, going for new experiences is what we all should do as often as the chance for doing so shows up for us. Experiences are what make all of our life and shape us into the person we currently are.
By the way and I don't know if this is first of all of any interest for You or feasible in a way but have You ever though about checking Capoeira out? If You like exercising, martial arts and dancing, this could be a thing for You!? ;) I loved it when I had the chance to have a short peek into it.

Sounds like fun. Wonder if they offer it (or something like it) here in Salem?
I was actually going to try a belly dancing lesson next week. A local natural foods place has a community room and they do some really fun and interesting things there, from Peace Meditation to Energy Medicine and Belly Dancing, all at a free or really inexpensive cost. It's within walking distance of my home so I have no excuses. :)

Just give it a search on the internet. When I did so, using "Salem" and "Capoeira" got me some results although I don't know if it is your "Salem". ;)
Good luck and should You get the chance to give it a try, please let us know how You liked it. :)

19 February 2017 Sunday: A week in review
Belly dancing was a lot of fun! I will definitely have to do that again.
Did better this week, lots more veggies and fewer carbs. Amped up the toning and cardio.
Did some good old fashioned hard work digging up Scotch Broom plants for a friend's yard area. Felt restoring to be out in nature.
My goal for this week is more code and balance in focus.
Long day. Tired so care ye well until we meet again.
Oh... Saw Dr. Strange at the local second run theatre. Talk about a possible Jedi! :wow

2/23/17: Woden's Day! (Wednesday at last... And what a god they named it after, eh?)
After doing some time on the exercise bike and doing my balance/toning/flexibility exercises, I finished a DVD series called "Trail of Tears", a series of 4 documentaries. It was a challenge for the Cherokee side of me to choke back the feelings of betrayal and anger that crept up, but then I cooled my heels and chose instead to focus on how my ancestors thrived and survived - and they weren't the only ones. My parents, my Bulgarian grandfather - all survivors. I come from a long line of fighters and survivors. It's a good thing, but something I need to be aware of. (The Dark side is strong with anger.)

This Week:
Changed up the exercise routine a bit with some new exercises (Mayo Clinic) to help improve balance and endurance. It's been lovely walking weather now that the water table has gone down and my favored park paths aren't under water, so I've been outdoors as much as possible. It feels like the best restorative one could ever take, being out in nature.
Looking forward to a weekend of catching up on assignments here on the Forum and getting together with friends for a nature hike, unless the **eww!** rain/snow forecast proves true. (Sigh...)
Blessings!

It...snowed...today... NOOOOO!!!! :S
Ah well, it made for a good walk. Slush is just another challenge. (Sigh!)
It's all good.
Got in a lot of walking and lifting over the weekend, both with weights and as a result of a fabulous book sale ($5 a box for books? I'm SO there!).
Need to spend more time on the Meditation/Force exercises, however...
More to follow -
Have a great week! May the Force be With Us!

Just think of slush walking as a good awareness exercise! :D
