Taijibum created the topic: Journal of a Jedi Wannabe- by Taijibum

I figured I would try to journal my progress in meditation and physical training. In a perfect world I would meditate for an hour, work out for a half hour and then meditate for another hour. Two hours in the morning used to be my rule but I got away from it a few years back and now thats my goal since last week I joined that illustrious group called, "the unemployed".

I got up early today and did 20 minutes of emptiness meditation but forgot to do pushups afterwards. I got used to doing them on my work breaks and now that I am out of work I want to make it part of my morning ritual. I am going to bump up my meditation to 40 minutes tomorrow and add in push ups and sit ups. When it gets warmer I will add running. I only run when its over 40 degrees.

Nice to have you back.

Do you think you might make it down to the Columbus area in July for this year's national gathering? I think the Jackson group might be swinging through Detroit on their way.

If I speak from a good motivation out of sincerity, respect, and love for others, my actions are good, virtuous. If I act from a motivation of pride, hatred, criticism, and so forth, then my verbal and physical actions become nonvirtuous.

Maybe. I saw the gathering was pretty close to me. Closer than Texas anyway.

Started my 40 min meditation this morning and got interrupted at minute 17 by my mom knocking on the door. After she left I started over and did my 40 minutes and then 4 sets of push ups.

Now off to the unemployment office.

Woke up at the crack of noon today. I was up late writing a book on Tai Chi and Taoism.

Ate a hard boiled egg
40 minutes meditation
4 more hard boiled eggs while getting in my 4 sets of pushups 10, 20, 20, 10
3 Mile Run (slow) connect.garmin.com/activity/149603266
4 hb eggs
table spoon of peanut butter (all natural organic)
5 peppermint patties
2 Yogurt Parfait
1 egg
2 parfait
veggie hot dog

If you can't tell I am not a fan of cooking. I'm not a vegetarian either. It just works out like that somehow.

I'll edit more stuff in all day.

Still working out and meditating. I did a trail run today and after the initial suckiness of it I got into the groove of it and it felt good to run in the woods.

Awesome. I missed the last few days of running due to cold rain.

It's probably cliche and I am really embarrassed to admit this, but when I run in the forest I feel like Luke on Dagobah.

lol, hey, if it works it works! The biggest part of success in physical training is the mental aspect. If you're in a good mental state imagining Dagobah, where's the harm? :-)
