Opie's history lecture on JEDI dot org , from which the IJRS eventually sprang. Of course, it's one person's recollections and opinions -- well, Jax and Angelus filled in some holes during the talk, and appreciated it was -- but worth a watch if (like me) you came into the community after 2005-ish. It's the last of an eight-part series that covers 1995-2005, organized by major sites and roughly chronologically, if you're interested in viewing the other parts as well.
