During my time on the Jedi path I've learned things I couldn't imagine. My universe has expanded with possibility that will take many lifetimes to explore. As a scientist I struggle with what is possible in the real world, which limits my ability to see what is actually there. The idea of a purple sky started as a joke - after all, any child will tell you a clear sky is blue. But I have always tried to pay attention to my experience and accept that I don't always understand the world, and in the end virtually anything is possible. I've now seen the sky in many colors on Earth. I hope, in my lifetime, that we can see the sky on other planets. A purple sky stands as a symbol for me to not assume too much and always be open to possibilities.
As an Instructor with this Academy, I don't know it all. In fact, I know there are students who know more than me in different areas of study. What I have discovered over the years is that I can help you get to know yourself better. I view myself as a facilitator and mentor more than teacher. We walk this path together, and I'll do my best to help you through your rocky patches. At the same time, my goal is to help you be an independent learner who is capable of adjusting to the rough patches of life - to be a resilient individual.
As Principal, my job is to coordinate between the faculty so we continue to develop new courses and help you with courses currently available. I'm also here, along with the guidance counselor, to talk to faculty on your behalf. If you have any concerns about an instructor or haven't heard from an instructor in a while, just let me know.
It is my hope that you stick with the Jedi path long enough to be changed by it. May you see the purple sky, may you enjoy the world around you. The Force is everywhere, it is up to us to be open and experience it.
